Icon FHR Pistons & Ring Sets
FHR- Formed Head Relief pistons have valve reliefs that are formed in as the piston blank is pressed into the die. Many of the domed models are solid which allows tailoring the dome height for a specific compression ratio. The 4032 Alloy material has 11% silicon content which controls the thermal expansion so a tighter piston to wall clearance may be used over the 2618 alloy. The additional silicon will also increase wearability on the skirts and pin bores making this an ideal material for street and light boosted applications. Mini grooves allow an overheated piston that contacts a cylinder wall to transfer heat to the wall. Friction is also reduced over a solid land. Press or bushed connecting rods may be used as all applications come with lock rings. Piston & Ring Sets also include a set of premium moly piston rings. Most available in std., 0.030", 0.040", and 0.060" over sizes. Sets of 8.
