Howards Cams Steel Billet Mechanical Roller Camshaft All Howards mechanical roller cams are ground on the billet still cores in house at Howards Cams. Mechanical roller cams are designed and mainly used in full competition applications. Real race conditions are extremely punishing to the valvetrain and the camshaft. So why would you use a cast core? No matter how good the heat-treatment, a cast care (SADI) will not provide the performance or durability of an American steel billet cam. Why are some cam companies using cast (SADI) cores? Lower cost, which equals higher profits. Howards Cams will not skimp on materials just for higher profits. Extreme conditions require better materials, better technology and better design. Better cam.... Great price! Made in the USA!
